Jen Myzel is an elementary school music teacher and singer-songwriter in Oakland, CA. Jen's music reflects her values of social and environmental justice, emotional intelligence and Earth-based spirituality. Jen has two published albums, Family Tree and Silence Speak, featuring the widely circulated single “Gentle Heart”. Jen has performed at notable venues including the Bioneers Annual Conference and RISE for Climate Justice in San Fransisco. She is currently collaborating in the classroom with Grammy-nominated kid’s hip-hop group The Alphabet Rockers, and has previously collaborated with Nimo Patel of Empty Hands Music, Ayla Nereo, ANML, and Octopretzel. Jen’s work is deeply influenced by her teacher and friend, Joanna Macy; the founder of The Work that Reconnects and a renowned teacher and author of titles including, Active Hope and Coming Back to Life. Jen is thrilled to combine her passion for children, storytelling, and music by releasing her first children’s sing-a-long book, Yellow Lotus Flower, this December.
